House Washing and Soft Washing
The green film on the shaded side of your house is not dirt. It is living growth, and rinsing the surface only takes the top layer off. It comes back within months because the root system is still there.
Soft washing treats it properly. Low pressure and a cleaning solution do the work chemically instead of mechanically, which kills the growth at the root and leaves the siding untouched. No water forced behind the panels, no stripped paint, no wand marks across the wall.
What A House Wash Covers
- Vinyl, brick, stucco, fiber cement, and painted siding
- Soffits, fascia, and trim where growth holds longest
- Gutter exteriors and downspout faces
- Porch ceilings, columns, and entryways
- Landscaping wet down before and rinsed after
How The Job Runs
Walk The Property
Every surface gets identified before anything is turned on. Vinyl, brick, painted wood, and stucco all take different handling, and treating them the same is what causes damage.
Protect The Landscaping
Plants and beds around the working area are wet down first so nothing sits on foliage, and everything is rinsed again once the wall is done.
Apply And Dwell
The solution goes on at low pressure and is given time to work. That dwell time is what kills the growth at the root instead of just knocking the surface layer loose.
Rinse And Inspect
A full low pressure rinse from the roofline down, then a walk around with you to check anything you want looked at again.
House Washing Questions
What is the difference between soft washing and pressure washing?
Pressure washing uses force to remove what is on a surface. Soft washing uses low pressure and a cleaning solution to kill organic growth at the root. Siding and roofs need soft washing. Concrete can take pressure.
Will it damage my siding or paint?
Not at low pressure. The damage people have seen from a wash, meaning stripped paint, gouged vinyl, and water behind the panels, comes from using high pressure on a surface that cannot take it.
How long before the green comes back?
Longer than after a surface rinse, because the growth is killed rather than knocked loose. Houses under heavy shade will always show it again sooner than houses in open sun.
